World’s Largest Airshow at Oshkosh, WI, a Great Success!

AIRVENTURE 2016

Each and every year, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), puts on America’s greatest and by far the world’s largest Airshow – one that lasts for an entire week in the otherwise relatively mid-sized Wisconsin town of some 67,000 residents.  The colorfully quaint, bucolic,  and friendly Midwestern town sits on Lake Winnebago, some 15 or so miles due West of Lake Michigan.  And each year in late July, the area swells by more than 600,000 additional visitors, there to experience the exiting and fun-filled extravaganza of everything from hot air balloons and vintage airplanes to the latest supersonic armed forces fighter and jumbo jets.

Many of our FASF members are and have long been extremely active members of the International EAA community, and one of our local area (Las Cruces, NM) members, Brett Hahn  did such a fine job promoting the highly successful El Paso/Santa Teresa public passenger-riding demonstration of the vintage EAA Ford Tri-Motor ship last year, that he was hired by the EAA International Headquarters to head up their Chapter Department.

Here, below, is a short (31 second) video clip of this year’s featured events.

Below, the final day’s 4:51 wrap up video, exhibiting some video highlights of AirVenture 2016:
