Alma is in training to become an airborne Scanner, then an Observer, and lastly, an operational Pilot for the CAP. Alan and Brooks are both active CAP pilots for the Squadron, which flies two Cessna 182 Skylanes on its frequent missions. The office above is adjacent to the Squadron’s large hangar at the Las Cruces Airport. Alan is a retired USAF aviator who now grows Pecans in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The three (3) principal missions of the CAP are: 1) Emergency Services (such as search and rescue of downed Aircraft occupants or lost hikers); 2) Aerospace Education; and 3) Cadet Programs (for CAP junior members aged 12 to 21). The CAP is an total force partner and an auxiliary of the United States Air Force and was formed on December 1, 1941.
